Internships

SME Development Intern, Small & Medium
Enterprises, State Bank of India

During my internship with the Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) division at the State Bank of India, I delved into initiatives focused on women’s economic empowerment through microfinance and tailored lending solutions.

  • I worked closely with the SME Branch Head, analyzing financial policies and studying their impact on local businesses, especially women-owned enterprises.
  • I developed a financial literacy program for over 200 rural women, equipping them with essential skills to manage and grow their finances. This experience also provided key insights that allowed me to scale DhanSarthi.
  • By  Streamlining loan processes, I successfully reduced processing times by 30%, making it easier for women entrepreneurs to access funds.
  • Additionally, I helped 61 women-led SMEs secure a combined total of $50,000 in funding, fostering eight sustainable self-help groups (SHGs) that continue to support community-driven economic growth.

Rural Policy Analyst, Trilegal

As a Rural Policy Analyst at Trilegal, Gurgaon, I focused on addressing systemic challenges faced by small farmers and rural communities through policy research and legal advocacy.

  • I conducted in-depth research on the Farmers’ (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020, analyzing its disproportionate impact on small farmers in Kaithal.
  • By comparing Indian agricultural policies with the U.S. Farm Bill, I identified stronger legal protections and proposed amendments to better safeguard small-scale farmers.
  • I assisted over 50 farmers in navigating unfair contract terms, providing legal guidance to secure their livelihoods.
  • Investigating financial mismanagement in rural development funding, I developed a framework for transparency and accountability in budget allocation processes.
  • I also organized a community forum with 100 attendees, including policymakers, legal experts, and grassroots leaders, fostering dialogue on budget transparency and social welfare funding, resulting in actionable policy recommendations.

As the youngest of five campaign managers in a groundbreaking legislative assembly campaign, I led a voter engagement drive that significantly increased female turnout, ultimately contributing to Aditya Singh Surjewala’s election as India’s youngest MLA:

  • I developed and executed a multifaceted strategy, merging financial empowerment workshops with civic education to reach over 15,000 constituents in underserved areas.
  • Through collaboration with over 100 stakeholders, including government officials, grassroots organizations, and community leaders, I fostered partnerships aimed at sustainable social impact.
  • Coordinating activities among 200 party workers and volunteers, I ensured effective outreach and consistent community engagement across diverse groups.

By advocating for transparency in key government schemes, I achieved a 15% increase in awareness and enrollment among disadvantaged populations.
